Nevaeh (Heaven spelled backwards), is a lovely half Peruvian, half Chilean, light fawn, huacaya dam with a passive, easy going, very gentle temperament, says her owner, Kathy. Shes at around 3rd position in the herd group pecking order.
In a word? Kathy tells us Nevaeh is Serene.
Nevaehs lineage is nicely balanced, with the likes of PPeruvian Emilio, PPPeruvian Grand Master, PPPeruvian Royal Fawn and his son (Nevaehs paternal grandsire), Peruvian Moonlight Majesty!
Nevaeh is a proven dam, though shes been kept open due to her owners having a family health issue necessitating a cessation of their breeding program. When I asked Kathy and Ralph what they can share about her production qualities, they answered, She was 4 before she conceived for the first time. She has 1 female dark brown. She had some difficulty letting the cria nurse resulting in some veterinary assistance for the two. When mom & baby finally got the hang of it, Nevaeh did very well at being a mom.
Nevaeh has correct conformation and She has the type of face that draws your attention to her, adds Ralph.
Nevaeh was blessed with a very nice fleece and she placed second at the Buckeye Alpaca Show in 2007, offers Kathy. That tells us a lot about her genetic quality and what she has to pass on to her cria.
"Nevaehs fleece did not do as well during her pregnancy. She usually has very nice fleece. She likes to cush a lot. Maybe to be protective of herself. This made it difficult to show her. She was slow to breed & is selective about with whom she will breed."
She halters well & if she doesnt cush she leads well, too" Kathy added.
