Zorro is wholly owned by Becky Roof and Oliver Brown. He is offered here exclusively via The Secret Meadow program of Close-Knit Alpacas, and may be purchased individually, or as part of a super Collection of quality alpacas ideally suited for your breeding program.
Flashy Zorro is full of energy and a zest for living! "He is very interested in the ladies and breeding so he will fight to maintain his place at the fence... Otherwise, he gets along well with other males," says Becky.
Oliver & Becky say what stands out most about Zorro is "his striking look. His markings really stand out." I obviously agree, don't you?!
I asked Becky to tell us a bit about Zorro's fleece. She said, "His fleece is awesome with great length, density, handle & consistency." Wonderful!
When I asked Becky what 1 word best describes Zorro, she immediately responded, "Cassanova." That says a lot!
While generally Zorro's nails grow more slowly than most (a benefit which makes maintenance easier), Becky says it's important for you to know that Zorro's teeth grow too fast. "They have already been trimmed and they need it again. His face/mouth is a little crooked. I think this happened from fighting, and I also think this is the problem with his teeth growing too fast. I don't think it is congenital. He also only has one testicle, a result of fighting teeth on a herd sire." Ouch. But it appears to have healed up. Whew!
Zorro has his first cria (A BIG, LIGHT BROWN FEMALE) on the ground! Becky also reveals that Zorro is "a little hard to work with - He is a little wild. He doesn't like his feet touched or trimmed. He doesen't like to stand still." Nevertheless, he "walks well on halter," says Becky,"even though he's a little hard to catch and halter." LOL! So, while it may take a little effort to get him still and haltered, once that's achieved, he walks well on lead, and that's important to know.
