Accoyo Ridley is less than two years old and is showing excellent personality traits that we love to see in our boys. He is friendly, well socialized, enjoys walks and has never shown any inclination to spit or kick at a human. He has been practicing neck wrestling with the larger male alpacas and is getting better at it every day :-)
Ridley has full Peruvian heritage and is a descendant of the Estancia Accoyo farm in Macusani, Peru. His heritage is full of renowned Peruvian Accoyos including PPeruvian Caligula G4572. Royal Fawn, who is one of the most prolific Accoyos is not in Ridley's ancestry which makes him the perfect choice to breed with all of the beautiful Royal Fawn descendants!
We are going to be doing his second histogram in April and as soon as we get the results we will upload them as well as before and after pics on shearing day, full weights on blanket, neck and leg fiber and photos of the fiber. Samples of his fiber will be available in May and we will happily send them to you upon request. His first histogram is uploaded and showed an MFD - 18.4, SD - 3.9, CoV 21.2 and Fibers great than 30 microns is 0.7%! We really think the second histogram will be equal to the first one in every aspect. His fiber is extremely dense on the blanket area and his neck fiber feels like soft butter. We are expecting above average weights on his fleece and believe he is in line for a 5 - 7 pound blanket. I am actually going to weigh him prior to shearing so I can get an exact number on the amount of pounds he is carrying in beautiful white fiber.
Ridley is on track to begin his breeding career in Spring 2014 and we believe he is going to make an excellent backbone to a breeding program that would want his lineage, fiber and personality.
All of our alpacas are healthy and handled daily. We believe in complete honesty and integrity and we are very transparent in regards to health records, fiber, personality, heritage, etc...
