Wow. Wow. Wow. Allegheny Peruvian Tamina is the pinnacle of every suri farm's breeding program. Over a half dozen large suri farms sought us out during the spring shows just to get their hands on Tamina. The largest suri farm on the east coast said that Tamina is a "real collector's alpaca. Very special. Unique. Heavy, dense fleece."
Being true black with one white leg and a white ring-around-her-collar, Tamina really stands out in any crowd. She has the fleece lock structure and density of a much lighter alpaca which was evident when she won the BLUE ribbon at the PAOBA show beating multiple fawn and white fancy as well as grey alpacas from large farms. Her beautiful tight locks beam with luster and extend all of the way to the skin.
After awarding her a ribbon at the 2003 MaPACA Jubilee when she was just 6 months of age, the renown alpaca judge Julio Summar said, "I'd like to see this one back here next year."
Tamina is full Peruvian. Her sire is national champion Pperuvian Juan, who's offspring have won him Get-of-Sire in every show entered. Her dam is a dark brown import suri that repeatedly throws award winning crias.
Tamina will be available for purchase in the AOBA National Conference Auction, June 4, 2004, in Louisville, Kentucky. Until then, come and meet Tamina yourself at any show we are attending.
UPDATE: Congratulations to Gary & Sue LaMaitre of Lazy G Alpacas on their selection of Tamina for their herd.
