Aussie Rockford has arrived in Texas. This amazing, half Accoyo gray has been famously siring champions and blue ribbon winners on the West Coast for years. Now he is here in Paradise! He has a beautiful silver gray fleece, extraordinarily dense and crimpy and is still maintaining a fine hand even at 10 years old. His conformation is excellent, with great presence and a beautiful, typey head. He passes all these attributes to his offspring along with his color. Of 133 registered offspring, over half are gray! And 105 are either black or gray, almost 80%! This is out of dams of varying color, including fawn and white! His offspring have gone on to win many championships and ribbons which I will update on here soon. In an independent statistical evaluation of offspring show results this year, he is in the top three of gray herdsires in the whole country!
Congratulations Sue & Bob Evon of Sleeping Monk Farm Alpacas and Ron Brenda Berg of Stonewall Fields Alpaca Farm on the purchase of top foundation female, Steele Magnolia. Sue and Bob purchased Maggie's first cria, Kandor, sired by Crescent Moon's Kryptonite who has successfully stood at stud for them ever since. They've watched her produce one after another color champion, and now have added her to their growing grey breeding program.
Steele Magnolia is the offspring of our best true black female, Peaceful Valley Grace, and the indisputable powerhouse of grey genetics, Aussie Rockford. Maggie is an absolutely stunning silver grey girl. Her pedigree is a phenomenal combination of black and grey genetics perfectly balanced with Accoyo/Peruvian bloodlines from Yupanqui, Felix, and Guellermo.
Maggie is firmly established as a foundation female. It is usually the studs that get the credit on most farms, but with this girl's track record she handily deserves the title of "stud female" here on our farm. She has produced 5 amazing offspring to date. Look at the collage at the right to see the style she stamps on her kids, and these are ALL from different herdsires. No doubt who is throwing the "style" genes in Maggie's cria.
Maggie is a beautiful medium silver grey with many positive attributes. She possesses perfect conformation, excellent fleece coverage and character, with an endearing personality that makes her standout from the herd.
She is a cornerstone foundation female. Her first cria a bay black male sired by Crescent Moon's Kryptonite standing stud at Sleeping Monk Farm in New Hampshire, and her second cria sired by SA Peruvian Black Epic, is a striking true black female who looks as stunning as her first. '08 produced a silver male out of Victor's Julius, and '09 a dark rose grey Rincon Cloud Daughter.
