Want to decrease the average micron count of your alpacas without sacrificing fiber character, density, coverage or conformation? Take a look at Xanadu Peruvian Jazz, his fiber statistics and his pedigree and you'll know he's the right one for the job. A proven male whose first cria is a light fawn with exceptional hand, Jazz produces extremely fine and uniform fiber with excellent crimp. His sire, Peruvian Felix, is well-known for his fine fibered offspring and excellent fleece weights. His dam, Xanadu Peruvian Haiku, won the Produce of Dam class at the 2001 Estes Park Wool Market. We are very pleased to add this elite Huacaya male to our Herd Sire list at Pine Forty Farms and will be offering limited breedings to him in 2003. Contact us soon if you are interested in his services because his book is filling quickly! Our thanks to Pamela Ray of Xanadu Farm for allowing us to purchase this outstanding young male. Pictured below is the first Jazz cria born at Pine Forty Farms.
Aldea (aka Dea) has very fine, dense fleece, from noes to toes; she is correct & well balanced with good solid bone and impeccable presence. Dea has a lovely grace about her & her proportions are simply wonderful.
If you are looking toward producing fine fleeces & conformational alpaca, look no further. Dea's fleece has very good crimp, long staple & excellent hand; her sire is Xanadu Peruvian Jazz, a Felix son. Her dam is an Acero Marka Bolivian, who has produced many award winning cria. In addition, Dea's dam is like clockwork, re-breeding without difficulty & throwing quality cria (mostly female!)in a variety of colors, year after year. Dea is a very reserved, no nonsense alpaca & easily blends in & finds her place; she is low maintenance & a pleasure to have in our herd. She is the queen bee.
Dea's first cria, Prairie's Moonbeam, is an amazing female w/ super dense fleece, matchstick bundling, brightness & full coverage; she sheared an 8lb blanket as a yearling. Dea's next cria, Prairie's Tributary, is quite a gem & is a working stud at Whirlwind Ranch. Tributary has it all going on: big, heavy bone structure, proud carriage, dense, super fine, bright & crimpy fleece. He was awarded Color Champion in Halter & Reserve Color Champion in fleece, along w/ other strong placements to include a First in Bred & Owned Yearling.
In '08 Dea delivered a beautiful white female, Laurasia(aka-Asia). Asia is the result of a breeding to Hobby Horse The Lone Ranger, an elite white herdsire. Asia has been described as one of the densest females seen by judges and fellow breeders. She has placed in halter & fleece, scoring high points.
In 2009 - Dea did it again! A beautiful, strong female cria, Painted Lady, arrived from her breeding to Majestic Peruvian Bronson. What a looker she is - total fleece coverage that simply shimmers it is so bright!
In 2010 - Dea did it again! Another beautiful, strong female cria we are calling Augusta!
Awards Received Dea was never shown, however, she has on the ground: A stunning beige female, a multi award winning color champ beige son, a white head turner, Asia, and a gorgeous appaloosa Painted Lady.
Dea has produced 4 females and one male for us - all wonderful animals.
