Almost every alpaca breeder knows about the great Hemingway. Someday he will have a successor. Could this young male be 'the One'? His name wounldn't be 'The Alianza Prophecy' if I didn't think so.
There are many great contenders as 'the heir to the Hemingway throne'. Prophecy's sire - Predictor - is one of them. Come see Prophecy, and his progeny, and decide for yourself.
April 4, 2005 Update -- The Prophecy went to his first show in Springfield, MA and took a second place in a tough class. This show had 65 juvenile white male huacayas entered!
July 2005 Update -- Results of Prophecy's fiber test have arrived. A sample was sent from both right and left midsides, to assure an accurate result and to test his consistency. The left side AFD was 16.3; on the right side it was 15.8! In both samples the SD was only 3.3 microns and in both samples there were NO fibers over 30 microns!
Talk about your prototype Alianza male: a VERY fine, consistent fleece with fantastic staple length. When he received the Red Ribbon at the NAAS the judge said, "If we can breed for alpacas with a staple length like this we can shear them twice a year and double their value as fiber producers. This is the kind of male you want to breed to."
Many impressive Prophecy offspring can now be seen. Check out Prospect, Tempest, Regal Prophet, and Sweeney!
Prophecy had skin biopsies evaluated by both Dr. Norm Evans and Dr. Jim Watts ====Follicles per sq. mm==S/P Ratio= Watts....... 39.8...............11.4 Evans....... 59.
Awards Received Those familiar with the Sixth Day breeding program know that breeding show winners was never the primary goal. The focus here is on vigorous alpacas that yield abundant fine fleeces - with fine primary fibers. That said, Prophecy is siring crias with desireable textile qualities - and they are 'showy', too. Come open their fleeces, and tell me what you think!
*Full interest in Prophecy may be available, with Sixth Day retaining some breedings. Let's talk it over.
