Iris is one of our first alpacas, who has produced lovely babies for us. She's a beautiful light red-brown with correct conformation, nice stature and solid bone- Iris brought home a red ribbon from the 2000 Breeder's Choice Futurity. Her pretty white markings really catch your eye.
Iris is a great mother who produces tons of milk, and she's an easy breeder, producing healthy, solid, correct crias with dense, crimpy, soft, long-stapled fleece with a minimum of fuss! Iris' first cria, Kurt, is a herdsire at Menagerie Farms in PA. She had a beautiful MB girl for us with whorls of soft, dense fleece! From a black dam, Iris has produced black, twice. A solid true black girl, and then she delivered the cutest B&W tuxedo male. Sturdy and correct, Bandit is a heartthrob, and a character to boot! He has tremendous staple length to his pretty true black fleece, just like his sire, Knight of Camelot.
Iris delivered a gorgeous daughter last year, sired by our own El Nino's Accoyo Iago! She has her dam's pattern, slightly lighter (DF,) and her sire Iago's gorgeous physique and awesome fleece. Acadia placed 2nd in her very large class at the PAOBA Breeders Showcase! RRA Iris was bred back to El Nino's Accoyo Iago for a repeat performance in 2010!
Iris is a good quality production female, with a recessive black gene, who has never needed assistance birthing. Her crias have never needed supplementation or transfusions, and she is bred to our striking El Nino son for a fall 2009 cria!
