Miss Flame
True Black, 835124, Full Bolivian
Miss Flame is a rare, true black, full Bolivian that has always been healthy, breeds easily, births unassisted and is an excellent mother with ample milk. Flame's milk was in at the birth of her first cria and she is a very attentive dam. She is also the brave defender of the herd. (Just ask my dog!) She is average sized with medium bone, good conformation, wide and even leg spacing and has a correct bite. She has a splash of gray on her right shoulder (see spring 2003 photo), dark eyes, spear-shaped ears, facial fiber and a nice temperament. She loves to have her belly sprayed on warm days. Her fleeces thus far have no prominent medulated fibers. They are very uniform, dense and soft, with beautiful aligned crimp and nice luster. Her first cria, Donovan's Duke (grandsire Shackleton, Chilean), placed in his two 2005 shows amongst heavy competition at barely over 6 months of age. He was born at 15.5 pounds and weighed 73 pounds at six months.
Donovan
True Black, 826729, Full Chilean
Donovan has produced 6 female and 3 male crias! His best daughter won 5th in a very large class at the 2004 AWE show and sold as a weanling. All are very sound and healthy with that adorable Alpacas De La Patagonia look compliments of their well-known grandsire, Shakleton. Donovan is average sized with very correct proportions, conformation, movement and phenotype. His blanket fleece is very uniform, soft, fine and dense with high frequency crimp, nice luster, soft handle and no prominant medulated fibers.
Micron Count 2005: 22.8/5.6/24.7/curve 26.5 2006: 28.6/6.1/21.1/curve 27.5 Finer than some of his peers at that time.
A truly beautiful black male and he's maintaining his wonderful fleece qualities with age.
Bloodlines from Patagonia's Shackleton (sire of Neruda, who sold for $205k in '07 and Trauco) and Bolivian Black Flame (AoA).
His fleece is very uniform with extension of his prime fleece character in his topknot and tail and down his legs. His solidly dense fleece is very soft, very crimpy, very bright and very long. His 2005 - 2008 fleeces have no visible guard hair in the entire blanket, rump, neck, legs and topknot (crimped primary fibers).
Beautiful phenotype; Slightly compact; Very correct, straight and square leg conformation and a perfect bite; square foot placement with toes pointing forward; tracks correctly; balanced proportions; correct movement; correct tail set and ears; heavy bone and muscle (needed in females to store reserves); very full topknot; Dam breeds and births healthy crias easily; Sire produces healthy, quality, dark offspring.
His dam's fleece placed third where first was Pacific Crest's Phoenicia and second was a Snowmass black. Both of his parents have produced award winning cria, are multiple award winners at large shows and exhibit above average density, uniformity, fineness, softness, luster, crimp and have no visible guard hairs in their prime fleeces for their first 3 years.
Birthweight: 15.5 lb.; 73 lb. @ 6 mos.; 135 lb. @ 16 months. 6 of 7 relatives on his pedigree are black, the other is a DB with black points. He has always been healthy with a strong libido, normal testicles and is easy to manage with a calm temperament.
Future matings are planned with Clarissa, Carmelina, Cholula, Buttercup and others.
