| | | It is no secret as to Phantom's name; her true black body and white mask give her away! Phantom is a beautiful alpaca with unique markings. There is a great deal of black in her pedigree. Her last two cria were Samson, a gorgeous caramel little boy (O.K. - he was never little; he was 24 pounds at birth!)and Orvis, another big fawn boy, a 25 pounder! Phantom is bred to Picasso, our black, half Peruvian herdsire for a May 2005 cria. | |

| | | We purchased four females bred to Solar a little over a year ago. Once they were born, we were so impressed, we knew we just had to have Solar in our breeding program. Each of the four crias were conformationally flawless, had crimpy soft fiber & had typey builds and heads. In addition all four were of beautiful solid colors! Pictured below is Samson, one of Solar's crias from this past spring. Solar de Peru's mom is Ppperuvian Sunflower, an import from the third Peruvian importation. And although Solar is white, he has a few fawn spots. We believe that this and his mom's medium fawn color is the factor in Solar's ability to pass on color when bred to color. Solar was owned and used as a herdsire at Driscoll Alpacas in Canada where he was referred to as "a top breeding stud". Solar is the father of the first registered twins born in North America. He was bred to a full Accoyo female and the twins were born in 1999. An article on these twins is in the Spring 2000 AOBA Alp | |
