09/09 update Mindy delivered a very nice male cria on 9/15 which we'll include with Mindy. But the great part of this package is that Mindy will be bred back to Strider in spring '10, that too is included in the $8500 asking price.
Mindy is the outstanding result of crossing some well-known Peruvian lines. Her sire is Snowmass Andean Dream, a Hemingway son and exhibits the fineness and density Hemmingway is known for. On her dam's side is Snowmass Casanova, the 2003 Futurity Herdsire of the year, and Peruvian Bueno as grand and great grandsires respectively. Her fleece is dense, very soft, with medium frequency crimp and is an easy handling girl. What's probably most impressive about Mindy's fleece is that she has retained her fineness. At 71 months of age her stats are 23.4/5.4/23.3, outstanding for a production female. For those looking for an outstanding black foundation dam, including someone starting out in this business or existing breeders, Mindy would be an excellent purchase. She's proven and with a lot of reproductive years ahead of her yet.
Fall '09 Update: What an incredible, soild black female cria Mindy produced in September. We're so impressed that were repeating the breeding to Strider.
09/07 Update Mindy delivered an outstand beige male cria on 9/28, sired by Peruvian Aries. This little guy has tight, curly fleece locks and is looking pretty good at this young age. Mindy will be bred this month to Strider, a former Canadian Supreme Reserve Champion that is consistantly throwing black when bred to black. Clink on the link for him at the bottom of this page to learn more about him.
10/06 UPDATE!! Mindy delivered another outstanding cria, a medium fawn female with simply outstanding fleece character. Mindy and cria are out for breeding and as soon as they return, photos of this new cria will be posted here.
