Dora is a wonderful, robust female. She has terrific fleece coverage and density, remarkable fineness, soft hand and had 6" staple at 9 months of age, at her first shearing. Her fleece is very uniform and she has a striking head. Dora is long on grey and black genetics. Her sire, SA Peruvian Superstition, had 16.8 micron fleece at his second shearing; he was Color Champion at the 2002 Kentucky Classic. Her dam, Stella Cloud, medium silver grey, was a Blue Ribbon winner at the 2001 AOBA Nationals in Portland, in her halter class. Her grandsires are legendary producers of champions: Patagonia's Danko, also MSG, and 4 Peruvian Black Magic. We are proud to have her in our herd and feel that she would make an outstanding foundation female for anyone in the market for high quality.
Dora produced a handsome young male, StormCloud, from our AOBA 2004 National Reserve Black Champion, Grand River Mezcal, son of the Reserve Dark Herdsire of the Year, Dark Shaddow.
Dora comes from the "Cloud" line of greys on her dam's side; this line has been making big waves in the world of grey alpacas. On her sire's side, she has black in her background, from 4P Black Magic, so could throw grey or black. Dora has lovely vicuna patterning.
