SLT Deseret is a beautiful Bay Black daughter of 2 True Blacks. The great “Diablo” is her sire. She has excellent fleece characteristics and coverage. We purchased Deseret from Stevens Llamatique and Suri Alpacas when she was 10 months old. We call her “Desi” for short.

Desi was bred in December 2003 to “Graycliff Jax”. On November 23, 2004 she gave birth to an absolutely gorgeous Light Beige female cria we named Opalessence because of her gorgeous fleece. Opalessece has great coverage & curly locks that look like she was dipped in butter, and at 10 months of age won 1st place in the September 05 Midwest Alpaca Jamboree, and Color Champion. The Judge referred to her fleece as "Liquid Silk"!

Since Desi appears to pass coloring from the sire’s genetic line to her crias we have rebred her to our famous True Black herdsire “Piacenza”. This produced a beautiful almost carbon copy of Desi except that Scarlet Ohara is true black under her scarlet tips. She is so nice we repeated

Piacenza is a True Black sire of many award winners including DB "Fade to Black" and DB "Purple Reign" winner of 2 Grand Championships. He is the sire of True Black PS Sanatana who placed 6th at AOBA Nationals 2004. 50% of Piacenzas crias have been black, and in 99% of the breedings he has produced crias darker than the Dam. He has produced 4 TB crias from white Dams. Piacenza's luster makes him look as if he has been painted with black acylic paint. Piacenza's Dam Achacollo Felicia is True Black and his sire is the well known silver grey Parinacota Oscar, the 1st grey imported herdsire. The best way to describe Piacenza is "WOW"!
