Tapera has produced outstanding crias year after year. She brings out color from white males and has crias with great coverage and outstanding heads. She is a gentle and easy alpaca to work with and is a great mother. Tapera is bred to MFI Omni. Omni is a Mr. Know It All son, and Tapera has produced a great cria with Mr. Know It All in the past.
Marriott is a spectacular male purchased by us at Magical Farms' 2002 Breeders Choice Auction. He is the son of Peruvian Kilimanjaro and the grandson of the late great Accoyo Peruvian Caligula. Marriott represents a unique opportunity to add West Coast genetics to your herd - the Kilimanjaro / Caligula line is hard to come by on the East Coast. Marriott's sire, Kilimanjaro, produces wonderful award-winning crias in a wide range of colors including true black, and we anticipate that Marriott will do the same. He has settled his first females and is well on his way to making his mark on the alpaca industry. Marriott's fleece is dense and the character exhibits tight crimping. His fleece color is a light fawn or dark beige, depending on your perspective and the lighting! In any lighting, however, his fleece is awesome and his conformation is excellent.
Taperas is a striking young daughter of My Peruvian Marriott. This girl is a bit deceptive...she looks medium to dark brown, but her fiber is really coming in extremely dark - I would say Bay Black right now. She is big and strong and will make an excellent production female. Taperas's pedigree includes Marriott, Kilimanjaro, and Accoyo Caligula! She was bred to MFI Peruvian Monsanto and produced a female cria on 10/21/08 her first. Some facts about Monsanto:
When you think of the top echelon of fawn males in the U.S., it is impossible to not to think of Monsanto. Monsanto was the 2003 Fawn Champion at AOBA Summer Nationals (Halter) and 2003 MAPACA (Halter). Monsantos elite fleece beat out some of the best alpacas in the world to take these top coveted awards in our industry. In addition to spectacular fleece and conformation, Monsanto has pedigree to burn. He is the son of Magical Farms gorgeous herdsire, Quetzal. He is the grandson of two of the greats on one side Monsanto has the incomparable Accoyo Timoteo who Don Julio Barreda sited as one of the top three most influential huacaya males to ever leave the Accoyo Ranch. The Timoteo line has long been in my favorite lines in the US. Monsantos maternal grandsire is the gorgeous black male, Matador (sold for $70k at an older age), who has sired countless champions including MFI Peruvian Black Mesquite.
Monsanto was purchased in partnership with Todd and Margie Kempfert of Blue Ridge Alpacas @ Victoria Ranch from Magical Farms at the 2005 Breeders Choice Auction for $125,000 - the high seller. Monsanto's crias are being born now, and they are truly amazing. To date, they range in every color including black and gray.
She was bred to Feliz Navidad Cabilito and had a male cria on 10/24/10.
She is currently bred to Grey Champion JLFA Peruvian Frango a fantastic full Peruvian Casanova son and is due 3/20/13.
