This beautiful Hemingway granddaughter has consistently fine fleece in typical Alianza fashion. She has given us one beautiful female cria who sold as soon as she was weaned. The second cria she gave us was a beautiful white male. Unfortunately he died after 24 hours due to hypoxic complications from being born partial placenta previa. Her third cria was born on August 8, 2005; a beautiful white female named Bravado's Alianza Velvet. Venus has been rebred to Maplebrook Bravado and her due date is July 2006. Velvet is so perfect and beautiful repeating the breeding was a no brainer. A Hemingway granddaughter bred to a Hemingway grandson has to criate another great offspring. I sure hope this one is a male, but if you buy Venus now, the offspring will be yours too, male or female!
An impressive Full Alianza Peruvian, Bravado is our new foundation herdsire. This young guy is fineness personified in a perfect conformational package. And just look at the beautiful bundling in his fleece. He is the result of combining the finest and most proven Peruvian alpaca genetics in North America. Bravado's sire is Bueno, owned by Mike and Robin Tierney of Maplebrook Farm.
On the other side of his pedigree, Bravado's dam, NWA Ltd., Marcie contributes another line of proven superior genetics. Her sire was the world famous Hemingway.
Hemingway is known worldwide and Bueno has produced over 100 winning offspring to date, and we think Bravado is one of his best. We are certain that Bravado will go on to sire as many champions as his father, and one of them could belong to you! His crias have fantastic fleeces! But don't take our word for it, come and see for yourself. If his offspring continued to come out this good it won't be long before Bravado's stud fee i
A lovely cria, come see how she has grown! Pure Peruvian, 7/8 Alianza, 1/8 Accoyo.
The result of crossing a Hemingway grandson to a Hemingway granddaughter, Venus is 25% Hemingway by pedigree, the same as a direct Hemingway granddaughter. Doubling up on Hemingway through two of his top offspring - NWA Macrie,(dam of Bravado) & Studmaster(TM) El Bello - increases the odds of getting the BEST of the Hemingway genes, not a 'random assortment'. For more details on genetics & the art of selective breeding, please call Wayne at Sixth Day, or Gordon Hadyk & Linda Marie at Inti Alpacas.
Sire - Maple Brook Bravado. Whether you want a show ring winner, or high-value fleeces, Bravado is doing the job!
Dam - Venus de Noche by El Bello, chosen by Mike Safely to carry on the Hemingway tradition in the Studmaster (TM) program. Hemingway, along with Bueno, was imported from the Rural Alianza, and became one of the most influential alpaca males ever. El Bello's dam was imported from Accoyo.
Fleece - Velvet has the 'trademark' Bravado fleece: bright, crimpy (Curve 42.7), well organized, good uniformity of micron. The high percentage of sebaceous glands noted in Bravado's skin biopsy shows in the buttery feel of his offsprings' fleeces.
