TORBIO is an original in every sense of the word. He was one of the original Accoyo Suri herdsires hand-picked by Don Julio Barreda and introduced to the U.S. by Nola Graham. He is the "REAL THING"!
Torbio has tremendous presence. He is very proud of himself, and although he is smallish in stature, he commands the respect of all the other males in the pasture. He is also one of the last males to survive from that importation. He is one of only 2 Older Gentlemen still alive. Even at his advanced age, Torbio has a bright glint in his eye, and a spring in his step. We asked him what age he wanted to live to. Without hesitation, he shot back, "25". We asked him why 25. He chuckled and watched a butterfly go by... "Well, because very few alpacas die after 25!" He has such a sense of humor for an old guy!
He is best known for his ability to pass his outstanding traits to his progeny. Even today, Torbio's fleece has blinding luster and that greasy feel that we all strive for. <
Adelita's 2011 cria was born on a cold December 15 day. He is solid brown. He weighed in at 14 pounds, 14 ounces with lots of lustrous fiber.
