| | | Libby is a sweet, gentle girl with lovely, soft, light fawn fleece. Her pedigree is full of fawn color. Her maternal granddam, 4Peruvian Tierra 6604, was a dark fawn imported female from the Kenamari Region of Peru. Her sire, AFA Royal Peruvian Aristocrat, is a light fawn male, like his sire, Accoyo Royal Fawn.
Libby's dam, Autumn Blessing, was our first female cria...born on Thanksgiving...the same day that we purchased her dam! And, what a lucky day that was for us, as she has been a dependable producer.
We expected Libby to carry on the qualities that made her dam such a good mother and she has not disappointed us. Her first cria, Avalon's Peruvian Autumn Skye, is a handsome, fine fibered white male. She delivered easily and took an instant interest in her new son, even licking his face. Libby's milk dropped shortly after delivery and she produced an ample supply. We couldn't have asked for more.

| | | HEAR-YE, HEAR-YE!! Whirlwind's first cria, a medium brown male, just earned a Blue Ribbon in his first show ever! The judge was Kristin Burhmann. Whirlwind carries the genetics of 3Peruvian Cordero 6002, an exceptional herdsire who has only recently returned from Australia. Whirlwind's 2nd, 3rd & 4th cria are MegaStar, Paco and Cordera. A breeding to Whirlwind produces a cria whose bloodlines have not saturated the national market - a great advantage to the seller. This is especially true since both Whirlwind and his sire AFA Peruvian Nevar are Multi Blue Ribbon Winners! Cordero passed on his attributes to Nevar and Nevar has passed these attributes onto Whirlwind. Nevar had his 9th shearing in 2005: AFD 23.2 SD 4.2 CV 19.2 CF 92.9%. Not bad for an old guy! This young fellow is developing into a handsome, proud male with fine fiber. His fiber has high frequency crimp and wonderful hand. We expect that he will be an easy going gentleman, and a producer of lovely fiber.
Like several of our boys, Skye was "on the cusp" as a herdsire prospect. Although at one time he might have been considered herdsire material, we think that in today's market he would be a better fit in a quality fiber herd.
