AWI Peruvian Black Opal

True Black, 840485, Full Peruvian

Everyone who has seen Black Opal has commented on how she is the blackest alpaca they have ever seen. She has a very crimpy fleece with great density. Her confirmation is excellent. She is a very easy to handle girl with personality plus. Her Dam, Royal Peruvian Destiny is a multiple Champion and Blue Ribbon winner including Champion at 2001 Kentucky Classic and PAOBA and Blue Ribbon at 2001 AOBA. Black Opal is an excellent true black female with great Peruvian genetics. We are excited about her first birth out of Black Forest. The cria will be 1/4 Accoyo!

This junior herdsire has both a black dam and sire, so you know his hidden color is black, from either Black Magic or Black Royal Forest. And we know he got his brightness from his grandsire, Black Magic. McGuire just shines with brightness. His sire is 1/2 accoyo, making McGuire 1/4 accoyo. McGuire's fleece is extremely dense and crimpy. McGuire showed in his first show in 9-22-06, and received a reserve Color Champion under international judge Julio Sumar. Judge Sumar said McGuire's fiber is simply amazing, and said that it was the best fleece he had seen all day, at the conclusion of Saturday's full day of showing. McGuire's class was the last to show, so that was quite a compliment.

Reserve color champion at his first show as a juvenile means this guy is somebody to watch.

If you want light and dark colored Peruvians, part accoyo, with fabulous fiber, McGuire is for you.

Check out McGuire's dam's fleece shot. She has wonderful true black fleece. And of course his sire has great fleece. So it's no wonder this little guy is going to be somebody.

We think he must take after his grandsire, Royal Fawn, with his fawn coloring, but yet he will throw black easily with both black parents.
