6/12: Cocoa's first cria is a very dark DSG male sired by our award-winning, TB, full Peruvian, Megabuck Mink; textbook birth; 17 pounds; 1/2 lb per day gain; IgG 1363 @ 36 hrs.; sound and healthy; Fantastic structure and more energy and libido than he knows what to do with and a dense, crimpy, silky fleece. Cocoa is being a fantastic mom. I'll post another cria photo as soon as it's available.
Cocoa's lineage has strong productivity and many award winners. You'll find the names Patagonia's Compadre/Caballero Adante, Michelangelo(TB)/P. Guellermo in her lineage as well as beautiful silver dams.
Cocoa is very people friendly, healthy, anatomically and structurally correct with an attractive phenotype, balanced proportions, heavy bone, a tall frame (37"), correct movement and bite. She is very easy to manage, very alert and very funny girl with a zest for life! Her fleece has very good density, luster, handle and crimp with no prominent guard hair in her blanket. S

We don't think you'll find silkier black fleeces than Megabuck's and his crias. Megabuck's solid TB crias are non-fading, blue-black and all have outstanding silkiness and luster, density, fineness, aligned crimp, long staple and correct structure. His crias are also robust, full of energy and presense and are consistent improvements over their dams.

Undeniable Peruvian quality...Megabuck is passing on his health and vigor; very heavy bone and muscle, large t
Very sadly, a couple years ago Dusty got overheated (only 70 with strong sunshine and plenty of shade) the day before shearing. He sired one cria shortly thereafter and none since, so he's now for sale as a pet. We really need to think about breeding alpacas with too much density.
Like his TB sire, Megabuck Mink in his first 4 years, Dusty's entire fleece shows no visible strong guard hairs, is silky-soft and fine, very long stapled and very bright with very good density; medium amplitude and frequency crimp; very abundant fiber coverage all the way around and down his perfect legs! We sheared Dusty's black cria tips at one month of age to reveal his silver dust...no spots! His fleece is becoming more dusted with silver as he matures. Dusty's parents have produced 4 lb. annual blankets (1sts only) and Dusty's 08 fleece is going to be huge! We still can't find a conformational fault on this male, teeth to toenails as the judge confirmed! Following in his parents footsteps, Dusty is robust and very healthy with large testicles, heavy bone and musculature, proportions and bite.
Dusty is one of the smartest and easiest alpacas I know with a wonderfully calm and trusting dispostion. As a young cria, he let me run my hand down his leg without even a flinch. His solid pedigree is full of successful bloodlines in the showrings and the breeding pastures: Patagonia's Compadre/Caballero Adante, Michelangelo/P. Guellermo, 4Peruvian Lanark's Locota (see sold listings)/Megabuck Mink; champion uncle Constantino; and three gorgeous, successful and silver granddams: C&S Cookee, Silver Empress and 6Peruvian Dona Jacira (see sold listing).
Awards Received 08 Alpacapalooza - Three first places and one second for Performance: Public Relations, Obstacle and Egg Spoon Race (Handlers: Laura and Audrey). He received many comments on his looks during the whole weekend. 07 Alpacapalooza: 3/5 FF Halter with competition from Snowmass and A of A bloodlines [D. Timmerman - couldn't say enough about Dusty's correct conformation, coverage, substance & presence. (He might have placed higher with a dry fleece...humidity flattened his crimp near the tips. See photo of fleece on a dry day. Note remainder of cria tips, dust line and 2" next to skin.)]
