Bambi comes from excellent bloodlines. Her sire is Conan, a '96 Peruvian import who has produced some of the most impressive herdsires in the showring including Lancaster, 6 time fawn color champion owned by Stan Shepard of AlpacaStock Farm. Other impressive siblings of Bambi include Kodiak, true black two time color champion, and Fabian, multiple blue and reserve fawn color champion. Bambi's lineage on her dam's side includes 4Peruvain Black Magic as a grandsire and CPeruvian Jaxon as a great grandsire.
Bambi's fleece and conformation are what you would expect from such renown, elite genetics. Her fiber is a soft fawn, dense with bundling crimp. She has a beautiful topknot, a perfect bite and excellent conformation. With the birth of her first cria, a gorgeous solid black male, we now know what we had hoped - Bambi covers black just like her sire and her dam!
In addition to her outstanding phenotype and genotype, Bambi has the sweetest personality around. She is a very friendly girl and incredibly easy to work with. You simply won't find a better well-rounded alpaca.
Bambi's 2009 cria is spectacular - a full Peruvian solid true black male out of our own blue ribbon grey herdsire, Silver Bullet. This guy is awesome. He has a huge, beautiful, typey head and crimpy, dense cria curls. Her 2010 cria is equally as nice - a gorgeous fawn boy we call Rare Vos who made it to the championship round in his very first halter show. In 2011 Bambi gave us a replica of Rare Vos, only the female version! Her little cria, Resilience, had to have knee surgery so we've decided to give Bambi a year off. She's in a small pen with Resilience while she recovers and learns to walk again. First thing in the spring, however, we will match up Bambi with Stratosphere for a powerhouse of genetics - Conan, Black Magic and Legacy.
