| | | Nambe comes from the well known breeding program of Ann Evans's Enchantment Farms (past home of Dom Lucilio). Daughter of General Schwarzkopf - VERY limited genetics! Nambe is a big boned chilean girl with excellent conformation and a ton of MSG fleece! Perfect bite and legs that are not only straight but covered with fiber to the toes. She has a full top-knot and a very typical tuxedo pattern of a MSG. She has no spots on her blanket.
Summer 2004, Nambe gave birth to a beautiful bay black female who placed in the top 3 consistently at all the big shows this year (see Dom Lucilio's Destinie in our foundation herd). Her cria, Destinie, went on to SLC to pick up a 3rd behind Magical Farms and Patagonia Farms. Not bad! Perseus was born to the "Mother of Champions", Nambe, on August 13th,the time of the Persied Meteor Showers! What a HEAVENLY alpaca he is! Perseus is all grown up now & ready to make that big step as a breeding herdsire this fall. We plan on breeding him with several grey & black females to continue to develop our highly acclaimed grey & black lines. One of the few males sired by 5Peruvian Socosani, we feel that Perseus is the best grey son & most qualified to pass along those fine grey genetics that go deep into Perseus' background.
Perseus has a very dense fleece. He also carries a very crimpy fleece with wonderful handle & very little guard hair through his blanket OR on his chest. These are the fleece characteristics we like to see on a breeding male. Perseus has a beautiful, straight top line & strong substance of bone. He is well put together without a doubt! He is covered in heavy wool, like his sire, from his topknot to his toes. He is an easy keeper being very nonchalant about the antics in the male pasture. Easily haltered, he leads well, you can count on productive breeding days with a cooperative herdsire who won't kill you trying to get the job done! This personality he takes directly from his sire also.
His dam, Nambe hails from the very well respected breeding program of Ann Evans of Enchantment Farms. Her sire, NWA, LTD General Schwarzkopf, had a very short breeding career for such a top knotch grey male. He encountered an STD & was put out to pasture early in his career. The very rare & limited offspring of this fine male, have gone on to produce many show winning crias thanks to their Schwarzkopf, Cisco Kid & Ghengis Khan background. Perseus has two sisters, Destinie (who is a Vintage Alpacas foundation female) was 2nd at the Futurity and 2nd at AOBA Nationals in bay black full fleece halter females. His FULL SISTER, Shiraz, sold at Ernie Kellogs auction, the Breeders Edge, as a blue ribbon, Reserve Champion for 20K.
