| | | Sapphire is a rich chestnut brown color that glistens in the sun light and so her nickname is "Fire." She is a large, well conformed girl with dense soft fleece and a good bite. Her grand dam and dam are excellent breeders and good mothers who have produced a high proportion of females. Last year Sapphire presented us with her fist cria, Geraldine, a lovely girl of similar coloration. This year she has given us an outstanding Calypsa male, Hunter. Sapphire is an excellent mother and good milker. Sapphire has a calm disposition, just like her mother. Sapphire is a big boned girl who has inherited the proud bearing and vicuna pattern from her wonderful sire, Peruvian Virutal Vicuna. She has also inherited her sire's density and wonderful fleece quality. She has earned two second place ribbons for her fleece in the two shows in which she has competed.

| | | A full Accoyo son of Felix and a grandson of Caligula on his dam's side, Calypsa possesses a regal bearing and perfect conformation. With his commanding presence, it is no surprise that Calypsa won a first place blue ribbon as a yearling at the 2001 AOBA Nationals. His lustrous, champagne-colored fleece is extremely fine and dense. His AFD at 4 years of age was a low 22.5 microns. This year he sheared an amazing 11 pounds of fleece! He continues to win blue ribbons for his fleece at the national conferences.
He has 25 outstanding crias on the ground showing a variety of colors including white, beige, fawn, light brown, true black, rose gray, and silver gray. Most recently,he has produced a handsome light brown boy named Harrison and a lovely little rose gray girl. Calypsa is one of those rare Accoyos who lets the color of the dam pass through while passing along his density and fineness to his crias.

Geraldine was Sapphire's first cria. She is one of our favorite Calypsa girls. She arrived right on time and was very perky, cute and inquisitive from day one. Her color is a bright brown, slightly lighter now than her mom's reddish brown color, but carrying her vicuna shading on her belly and inner legs, similar to her grandsire, Peruvian Virtual Vicuna. Her fleece shows her strong Accoyo and Peruvian heritage, dense and extremely crimpy all the way to the very end of her tail! Her fleece is also extremely fine with an AFD of just 20.8, and with a lot of brightness too!
Speaking of genetics, this girl is awesome! Peruvian Virtual Vicuna & Bueno plus Caballero Andante on her dam's side and Felix and Caligula on her sire's side. Could there be any more diversity and excellence in those bloodlines?
She is now maturing into quite a stylish lady with the large captivating eyes of her dam, Sapphire. Geraldine has inherited her sweet disposition and we expect that she will be a great mother like her dam.
Geraldine has been bred to to Wool and Gray Alpacas' 5x color champion Hemingway-Accoyo Nautilus' Nexxus. She has been confirmed pregnant and is due in April 2009. Geraldine and Nexxus look like bookends. WOW! We are expecting a fantastic cria from this pairing!!
We are offering her for sale at this price only until September 30th.
