Patagonia's Amazon is a gorgeous medium rose grey Chilean stud out of the famous Alpacas de la Patagonia. His sire, Danko, is one of the most successful grey herdsires in the country. Danko has sired at least one, (usually more!) AOBA Champion in every year since 1999. Amazon's sister sold for $41,500 at just eight months of age. We are seeing very nice Chilean's out of him, with excellent fleece. He sheared over nine pounds of fleece in 2003 at Patagonia, which is incredible for a grey! Even Amazons mother is an accomplished medium rose-grey with an amazing histogram of 17.4/4.1/23.6/2.0 at THREE YEARS OF AGE!!
Amazon was lost in the numbers game at high Meadow as a herdsire. Saracen won 26 top show ribbons for us in the grey class and his tenure overlapped with Amazon's. Still, he is a nice boy, great bloodlines, and could make someone a nice grey herdsire. And he is priced right.
