Sale pending... Daughter of the legendary Hemingway, CHIARELLA (say CHEE-uh-RAY-uh) is a sweet and gentle female who passes on her desirable temperament to her offspring.
CHIA has dense coverage of finely crimped, lustrous golden fleece down to her toes. She exhibits a compact body style, good bite and heavy bone.
A notable trait of CHIA and her daughters is that they are bold at the dinner table! They have no trouble holding their weight while lactating heavily, and we don't worry about coddling them when they are visiting at a breeding farm.
CHIA delivers her 15-21 lb. crias unassisted, provided ample milk and is a calm and patient mother. See daughter Halleluia here on our site. Halle is one of the highest quality alpacas we have produced.
UPDATE 2008: CHIA delivered her 2nd NAFD cria on Sept. 28. Braveheart is GOLD! This boy's blindingly bright crimpy bundled fleece is a show-stopper! In 2011, Braveheart is bringing home Blue and Champion ribbons in Spin-Off. See his herdsire listing here on our AN site.
CHIA had some scarring of the reproductive tract following a torsion delivery. The adhesions were repaired by Dr. Tibary at WSU Veterinary Hospital summer 2009. Ultrasound has demonstrated good healing and that she is producing good egg follicles, breeding happily. CHIA conceived to a single breeding on Sept. 4, 2011, is proven pregnant by ultrasound, and continues to spit off.
If CHIA stays with us while you make payments, and is unable to maintain her pregnancy, we will refund your money. If she does carry the pregnancy and deliver a healthy cria, then you have a steal of a deal: a 3-in-1 package with top bloodlines! Free rebreeding.
Combine CHIA in a package with unrelated animals from our associate farm JRAM Alpacas, LLC, and take advantage of multiple-purchase discounts. http://www.jramalpacas.openher....
