Sondra Lee

Light Brown, 1422177, 5/8 Bolivian, 3/8 Peruvian

A half-sister to Licoricia, the highest selling alpaca in the 2003 AOBA National Auction at $50,000. Both Sondra Lee and Licoricia are sired by MaPaca Champion Suri Lee. Sondra Lee is a nice big well-balanced female, with excellent coverage and a very dense rich brown fleece. Suri Lee is noted for producing nearly 75% female crias, and we are seeing the same propensity in his many daughters. Sondra Lee's mother, Stacey of Bolivia, produced her fourth female cria in a row in 2006. Sondra Lee had a beautiful, beautiful Peach Boy daughter, Such a Peach, in September, with some of the tightest, most lustrous pencil locks we've seen on a cria. It was a simple decision to breed Sondra Lee back to Peach Boy.

  Peach Boy
    Medium Fawn, 170501, Full Peruvian

The great breeding of this full Peruvian herdsire (Elar on his sire's side and Aureo on his dam's) shows through. In the show ring, judges commented on his magnificent presence and luster you could see from across the ring. Lots of luster and lock formation with excellent conformation – that’s Peach Boy’s crias too! In addition to his crias listed below under progeny (RFSS Peaches, RFSS I'm A Peach, RFSS Peach Melba, RFSS Catalyst, RFSS Peach Truffles, and RFSS Peruvian Hershey), Peach Boy's award-winning offspring have also included Suri del Sol, First Place, Southern Select 2003, and Third Place, 2003 AOBA National Alpaca Show; RFSS Peach Perfection, First, 2005 MaPaca Jubilee; RFSS Peach Princess, Third, 2005 MaPaca Jubilee (in the same class with Perfection); Grayson, Fourth Rose Gray, 2004 AOBA National Alpaca Show;; and RFSS Peruvian Bellagio, First, Southern Select 2007.

There is little wonder that Such A Peach was one of the nicest crias born at Ridgeview Farm in 2006. Her sire is nationally-known Peach Boy, sire of countless award-winning crias, including RFSS I'm A Peach, second-highest selling suri in the 2003 AOBA National Auction at $49,500. Such A Peach's grandsire on the other side is Suri Lee, sire of black Licoricia, the highest selling suri in the same 2003 AOBA National Auction at $50,000. Such A Peach represents the two genetic lines that helped put us on the suri breeding map! Such A Peach has excellent conformation, along with the beautiful lustrous, well-locked fleece that is so characteristic of Peach Boy's crias. She is one more female in an unbroken series of females from this line. Such a Peach has been bred to our full Bolivian black male, Macho Grande, and she comes with a full reproductive guarantee and our 10-day live cria guarantee. Such a Peach is owned by one of our customers, and, since she does not have a herdsire to whom to offer a free rebreeding for Such a Peach, a discounted breeding for Such A Peach in 2009 to one of Ridgeview Farm's solely-owned herdsires may be arranged. Also, e are finally admitting what many breeders already thought was obvious — we should not be raising white/light alpacas on this farm. These past two years of drought and this summer’s early high temperatures have finally made us see just how impossible it is to raise white/light alpacas here with our red clay. While white and fawn suris can be so beautiful, not here. They are incredibly orange, and they just aren’t pretty. Many of our nicest suris have never been shown because of this problem. Anyway, we’ve decided it’s time to do something about it, and so, we are having a WHITE SALE. Financing at this reduced price is available for up to one year, with at least 25% down and monthly payments with interest at prime plus 1%.
