His paternal grand dam is the famous Pop Tart who won 1st Place Suri Produce of Dam at the 1999 Easter Alpaca Jubilee. Her son and Michener’s sire is Chasque who was awarded 1st Place Full Fleece Get of Sire at the 2001 Big E in Springfield, MA, 1st Place White Yearling Male at the 1997 AOBA National Conference, Pueblo, Colorado and 1st Place Suri Full Fleece White Yearling Male at the 1997 Fiber Fest in Ohio. This young All American Male is sired by ATV's Local, Regional, National and International Champion, Michener, who recently won the coveted Judges' Choice Award (284 fleeces) at The Suri Network 2006 Fleece Show.
Kipling is out of ATV's 2001 AOBA National First Place Black Female, Ravin' who is one of Lona's favorite foundation females with her extremely lusterous black fiber.
When Kip was born, he appeared to be a bay black. Once he was sheared, his fleece appeared to be more of a mahogany color with a tinge of black that we would call a dark brown. Either way, he has the luster and fineness ATV is striving for in their colored animals and they are looking forward to his future breeding career.
