Jamae is a 9year old Caligula daughter who has his heavy bone and abundant fleece, with almost no medullation. She is an easy breeder, easy birther, who delivers punctually year after year. She's the meaning of the term "foundation female"!
One word describes Ginger Quill, and that is EASY! This foundation female is easy to breed, easy to work with, has easy births, and is an easy keeper. Since she's attractive, she's also easy on the eyes!
Ginger has given us 2 girls and 2 boys. We have bred her to a beige herdsire, a black herdsire, and a white herdsire, and she has allowed the sire's color to come through each time. All four of her crias are dense, conformationally correct and have perfect bites.
In October of 2008 Ginger presented us with a bouncing baby boy, weighing in at 15 pounds. He is almost ready to wean at just 4 months, which is a testimony to her good milk production.
We think the matchup with our young Peruvian herdsire Tiwanaku proved to be such a good one that we repeated the breeding in hopes of getting a female cria in 2009. After all, Ginger is proving the 50/50 ratio to be true so far!
