Dark Brown, 1113327, 1/2 Peruvian, 1/2 Other/Unknown

NOTE: Amber has been retired to our Foundation Herd. She is listed below for those who may want to consider the purchase of her crias. We plan to breed her to our ultrafine, black stud, Peruvian Black Lance for her 2007 cria.

AOBA 2006 SHOW UPDATE: Avalon's Amber Rose was selected by Judge Charlene Friedman as the 2006 AOBA BROWN FEMALE COLOR CHAMPION, making Amber a 7X Color Champion! Judge Friedman said of Amber, "Excellent proportion & substance...the finest in the class. She commanded my attention. It was hard to take my eyes off her!" Wow...that says it all!

Amber Rose is the daughter of our fabulous grey foundation female, Sugar Rose and our premier fawn herdsire, AFA Royal Peruvian Aristocrat. Years ago we sold a female cria from this match to Sleeping Monk Farm in New Hampshire. When that female, Avalon's Laurel Rose, went on to win multiple blue ribbons at shows in the East, we promised ourselves that we would repeat that special match

  Lace's Peruvian Black Lance
    Bay Black, 846259, Full Peruvian

We are very excited about the future with this outstanding male. Lance is a total package: great presence, handsome head, typey/strong conformation, and beautifully lustrous and crimpy black fiber! Take a look at his impressive histogram! This ultra-fine fleece would be exceptional on a white fleece, let alone a black one!

Lance makes available genetics from some of the finest black and grey males in the US today, including Peruvian Silverado and CPeruvian Jaxon. Lance's first crias have hit the ground. All are darker than the dam and most are TB. They have the crimpy, bright fiber we'd hoped to get.

Peruvian Black Lance will stand stud for outside breedings at Avalon Farm Alpacas from June through October. Make your reservation(s) now for 2007 Summer & Fall breedings in Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula!

Ask about Avalon Farm's Special Program of DISCOUNTED "CUSTOMER" AND "PRIORITY" STUD FEES!. Our breeding contract includes: 60 DAY

This is an opportunity to get a nice fiber male inexpensively. Rambler produces a beautiful, bright fiber with high frequency crimp and an average staple length. His frame does not have the substance we look for in a herdsire, and his fleece does not have the density we would want to pass along to the next generation. However, hand spinners and fiber artists will love the fiber he does produce.

Males that we classify as "fiber males" are those we believe do not make the cut to be herdsires. This can be for many different reasons, none of which impact their potential to be useful in some capacity as "non-breeders". Fiber males make wonderful 4H projects or "pets"; they can provide fiber for the handspinner and/or fiber artist; and they can serve as a wonderful entry into alpacas for the opportunity they provide their owners to learn about the care and handling of alpacas.

We offer a number of nice males in this category. Here is another nice male with good fiber and conformation who just does not quite make the cut as a herdsire.

Because alpacas are highly stressed and fail to thrive when living without other alpacas, our fiber males will only be sold with at least one other alpaca companion. Or, they may be sold individually to the buyer who already owns other alpacas.

If you are looking for males to start or add to an existing fiber herd, you will also want to check out our special package offer. Prices are reduced for multiple animals packages. We invite you to call for more information.
