Ms Genevieve is a truly gorgeous and impressive daughter of the renowned Peruvian Presidio and PPPeruvian Molly. Her conformation and bite are impeccable and her disposition is very sweet. Gen's fleece is very fine, exceptionally dense, and crimpy from skin to tip, not only in the blanket but clear up her neck to her ears and down into her legs! Her fleece exhibits wonderful brightness and has an exquisite hand. Gen returned home from the 2005 GWAS with a fourth place in an extremely tough yearling halter class... when Amanda Vandenbosch opened up her fleece, she just said "wow"! Gen's tui fleece also took Reserve Color Champion at the GWAS! EXTREME NEWS FLASH!!! Gen gave birth 6/3/06 to her very first cria... an EXCEPTIONAL Spanish Peak's Alpha Centauri offspring! (See Gen's 1/2 brother Armani's listing to read about the incredible Spanish Peak's Alpha Centauri). This light fawn male cria can only be called PERFECT. Luna is the epitome of structure, style and grace, the absolute synergy of dam Ms. Genevieve and sire Spanish Peaks Alpha Centauri. Her conformation and bite are as close to perfect as possible. Luna has an exquisite head with full coverage on her cheeks yet not full enough to impead vision. She had incredible presence as a wee one and that has only become more pronounced with age.
The brightness of her fleece is wonderful, she has high frequency/medium amplitude crimp from topknot to tail and down into her legs and from skin to tip in an incredible staple. Please note the 2008 sorting/grading of her fleece. In terms of the alpaca fiber industry, Grade 2 equates to "superfine", or 20 - 22.9 microns. As you can see, her neck fiber graded a "1" which equates to ultrafine, or <20 microns. This is a fleece that would be made into very soft, "next to the skin" yarn/apparel. Luna has Victor, Hemingway and Caligula genetics in her background and I have no doubt will produce elite cria, bred to the right male(s). She IS her mother's daughter and a priceless legacy from her granddam PPPeruvian Molly!
Luna is currently being leased by Windrush Alpacas in Clovis, New Mexico, (transferred from Llano Soleado Alpacas) and bred to their color champion White Blast. Should you be interested in this outstanding female, please contact me, or Rosemary and Ric Metcalf.
