PPPeruvian Molly, beloved Matriarch of Dancing Wind Alpacas, lost her battle with the far-reaching spread during fall 2007 of the "ARDS" virus (Alpaca Respiratory Disease Syndrome) and died from complications of pneumonia, December 19, 2007 at nearly 14 years of age. I am still devistated and miss her desperately, as I know do the "other girls". I occasionally catch daughters Gen or Mariah standing in the barn, seemingly in contemplation or perhaps just "remembering" a special moment with their Mom. Molly was an excellent and protective dam, had easy, unassisted births and provided ample milk, supporting cria growth of .5 to 1 pound per day. She has left a tremendous legacy in her sons and daughters born at Dancing Wind: Renegade and Armani, Ms Genevieve, Grace and Mariah, and in her grandson Taku and granddaughter Luna. I always felt blessed by her presence and honored beyond measure to be her "shepherdess". Though Molly is buried at Dancing Wind, I know her spirit spends "time"

PRICEless Bueno granddaughter with a beautiful face, perfect conformation and bite, fleece that is blindingly bright and soft with medium frequency/medium amplitude crimp, superb uniformity and a 4" staple. Mariah's 2008 blanket and neck fiber was awarded a grade 2, which in the fiber industry equates to superfine, or 20 - 22 microns.
Mariah's Mom was an easy birther, exceptional 'paca momma who provided ample milk for her babies and always bred back in one sitting.
Mariah is currently being leased by Windrush Alpacas in Clovis, New Mexico, (transferred from Llano Soleado Alpacas) and bred to the exquisite Snowmass Andean Night. This match should produce an outstanding offsrping! If you are interested in Mariah, please contact myself or Rosemary and Ric Metcalf.
Remember, Mariah's grandsire is the uncomparable Bueno, her sire Adolfo had an AFD of 22.1, SD of 4.6 and CV of 20.8 at EIGHT years of age, and her dam PPPeruvian Molly was from the Alianza Macusani Farm in Peru, receiving a very high score in the grading of that importation, and possessing an extremely dense fleece with high amplitude crimp and a wonderful handle into her later years.
