4Peruvian Afrodita 6598
Medium Brown, 166692, Full Peruvian
Afrodita is our herd matriarch. Purchased from Snowmass Alpacas, she is said by Julie Skinner to have the strongest vicuna phenotype of any alpaca they have ever had on their ranch. Even with advanced age, Afrodita's fleece remains dense and very fine.
Truly our "Old Faithful" and now over 16 years old, Afrodita keeps plugging away like a female half her age! Always birthing and conceiving effortlessly, Afrodita is trouble-free and a great mom. Her offspring have always been very healthy. Her import date is 1/1/94 and she was pregnant, so we assume her to have been born 1992 or earlier.
Easy to handle, she "melts" after being held for just a few seconds, and even picks up her feet for toenail trims.
Her 2006 daughter, Golden Summer, gained nearly a pound a day in the beginning, and was 100 lbs by the age of 7 months! Her 2007 cria was over 60 lbs at age 3 months.
Afrodita just delivered a gorgeous little daughter, Liberty, on July 2, 2008. Liberty is the f

Retirement incentive pricing on this rare male. There are few like him, butter-soft and never over 20 microns, even at his maturity. ROMEO is worth far more, but soon our agistor is retiring as well, and we must find a new home for ROMEO.
ROMEO is producing 75% female crias, and 75% colored crias.
Fine, uniform fleece that maintains its baby-soft handle as the alpaca matures: this is a quality we strive for at Genesis Alpacas. ROMEOs dreamy fleece features medium amplitude and medium frequency crimp and popcorn bundling. ROMEO exhibits pleasing proportions and a beautiful face with large dark eyes and excellent depth of jaw. With robust good health and strong libido, ROMEO showed a keen interest in breeding as early as 14 months of age. He is an efficient breeder, settling maidens in one breeding.
ROMEO inherits excellent immune competence and reproductive genes from his dam. Her crias' IgGs are near 3000, and they gain nearly a pound a day on her plentiful milk.
Fineness and uniformity of micron are locked in from both sides of ROMEO's heritage, and we believe you will see an improvement in the handle of your crias fleeces. ROMEO's dam's well-nourished, 9-year fleece tested out at 18.9 microns and an sd of 4.5. ROMEO's sire's fleece brought home a blue ribbon from the AOBA Nationals, and boasted a first year histogram of 18 microns, with an unbelievable standard deviation of 2.9 and cv of 16.1!
ROMEO's crias display vigor and eye-catching presence, and their dense, bundled fleece is bright, crimpy and colorful! ROMEO has black skin and nails.
"Cecelia is the densest coated cria we've had born on the farm so far. I can see and feel lots of curvature." Eva Gallagher Alpacas of Fair Meadows Farm
"Thanks for the professional way you and Ruthann handled the breeding; it was a joy to visit your farm and know we could send a girl there with no worries for her care." Celeste Mushet Alpacas de Colore
