Maple Brook Shabu

White, 1386615, Full Peruvian

|
| | | In the fall of 2011, Shabu delivered a male cria sired by Accoyo America Enterprise. This full Accoyo male is extremely bright with wonderful density and nicely developing crimp. Wade Gease, the well-respected AOBA judge who we hired to do a herd evaluation in December 2011, declared that he appears to display all the qualities of a show quality male. This lovely full Accoyo has great presence and is covered with ultra-fine fleece. Her sire is Maple Brook's multi-champion Accoyo Bolivar who is a Vengador son. Her dam, Accoyo Angelique, is a daughter of Accoyo Godfather, a relatively rare bloodline in this country.
When we sheared on April 30, 2012, Shabu's histogram came back as follows: AFD 21.1; SD 3.7; CV 17.7; 2.0% greater than 30. As an eight-year-old, you can't get much better than that. Isn't that what this fiber industry is all about and what we should be breeding for!

PPPeruvian Royal Fawn

Light Fawn, 139287, Full Peruvian
|
|
| | | Some would argue that no other alpaca in the country has had as much impact on the industry as PPPeruvian Royal Fawn. He is a full Accoyo male with a history of passing on his fine-fibered genetics to his 406 offspring. Consistent show winners and high sellers, his progeny boast 108 known champions and 392 blue ribbons in every solid color group.
Hand selected by the late Dr. Jim Vickers, Royal Fawn is the only light fawn Accoyo ever exported from Don Julio Barredas herd. According to Julio Barreda, Royal Fawn ranked as one better than he had ever produced at Estancia Accoyo in Peru. PPPeruvian Royal Fawn was the 1999 and 2000 "Get-of-Sire" winner at the AOBA National Show, and record breaking highest selling male in alpaca history in October, 2005. He is the sire of Dom Lucilio, Double O Goods legendary male known as the Herdsire of Champions with 73 known champion and nearly 200 blue ribbon offspring.

We knew Accolade was capable of producing something nice... but were caught off-guard with just how nice his first offspring would be. We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of this young male, Accoyo Roatan. He is extremely silky with bright, tight crimp. Plus, he had some of the finest and consistent fiber at his 7-month shearing--15.8/3.0/18.7/0.2. His photo and the photo of his fleece is on the right.
I recently spent some time with Royal Accolade, really looking him over. I think this guy has just peaked. He has retained his fineness even into his 5th shearing. He is phenomenally dense with his dam's match-stick bundling that is uniform from end to end. He is perfectly square and compact, has a correct bite and a very easy-going temperament making him a delight to handle when it comes to herd health and showing. We have shown him in numerous shows and he has placed in the all that he was entered in--a consistent ribbon winner in white classes! We were elated to get his full Accoyo dam's histogram back following our April 2012 shearing. Shabu has beautiful fleece with matchstick bundling and seems to have made quite a contribution to this young male's fleece already. Staying power is the key to success in this business and Royal's dam certainly has it. At the age of eight, Shabu has an AFD of 21.1/3.7/17.7/2.0% greater than 30--precisely what you should be breeding for.
He is an eager breeder and would certainly infuse some exciting genetics into your herd--Royal Fawn, Bolivar, Vengador and Godfather. Now that's a power-packed pedigree.
