Dark Silver Grey, 1047325, 3/4 Chilean, 1/4 Peruvian
Sarafina is a beautiful dark silver gray, with a fine fleece. She has great conformation, with a large, but feminine bone structure. She is very friendly and very playful. She loves to be the center of attention. She is a bit lacking in density, but with the right breeding choices should produce some lovely offspring. She bred easily and became pregnant on her first breeding which resulted in a light brown little girl that is as sweet as she is lovely. Sarafina was a great mama as soon as she figured out why this little thing was following her around. She is currently bred to an Invincible son. Can't wait for this one!
Rhett is an award winning medium fawn colored male, with great fiber overage, right down to his toes. His grandsire is Peruvian Bueno, a well known white male that has produced many award winning offspring. Rhett has dense crimpy fleece and consistently produces beautiful solid offspring with exceptional conformation and fleece characteristics. Rhetts offspring also tend to be the color of the dam, and the darker of 2 colors in multi-colored dams.
Desi is a bit of a late bloomer and is pregnant with her first cria. Honestlty, I rarely breed any animal more than once a year and so haven't tried too hard to get her pregnant. She is currently bred to Snowmass Nova's Gold who should add a typier look and some much needed density to her fleece.
She has a great personality even while pregnant and is the farm sentry, alerting us all to imminent danger, or in some cases a caterpiller or the neighbor's cow. I have her mom in my foundation herd and so have her value priced to make some room.
Desi was a great surprise one evening when I got home from work. She was born 4 weeks early and running so quick that I couldn't catch her! She was small, but fully cooked, and full of spunk. She has followed in her Mom's footsteps by always being in the middle of anything going on. She greets all the visitors with great interest and somehow seems to know when one of the other animals or I need some affection. She is still a bit on the small side, but she is solid and sturdy and has very nice lines. She is registered as light brown, but she has a light dusting of gray on her flank and neck and I believe when fully grown she will be closer to rose gray. Her fleece is dense with a low amplitude, high frequency crimp and outstanding staple length. As you can see, her yearling fleece has turned out to be very fine and consistant. \
