Welcome Isabella

Medium Brown, Full Chilean

Sadly, Welcome Isabella was killed in a dog attack earlier this spring at the farm where she had been sold. She was the first animal sold by Grazing Hills many moons ago, bought back with offspring in 2004 and sold again later. She was listed as a medium brown but was actually much darker and had never thrown anything lighter than medium fawn, even when bred to whites like Vengador and Legacy, our own Maximus and Passport.

Grazing Hills once had a saying that we would never buy a boy. Passport changed all that when his progeny showed off what he could do. He maintained a micron count of 20.5 with a standard deviation of 4.4 up until the age of 6 years! Passport was crippled by falling in a gopher hole as a cria; OSU performed surgery but to no avail. Because of the accident, Passport remained relatively small, and eventually he became arthritic. With heavy hearts, we opted to put him out of his pain in the fall of 2007 at the age of 12.

GH Pandora Sold!

Pandora gave birth at the end of September...her third female from Diomedes! The pairing of the two has been the most consistent on the farm...superb conformation and coverage, incredibly fine fleece...and all girls!! The latest, Miss Lucy, is a Dark Fawn with extreme density and D's characteristic fineness. She's a beauty!

Pandora's first girl, Miss Emma, was sold to the UK and Miss Scarlet, cria number two, will be listed shortly since we are selling the herd.

Pandora is in our "forever favorites" category here on the farm. In addition to having a gorgeous fleece with a very uniform crimp and super density, she is a sweetheart. We cannot readily tell when she is pregnant as she is one of two females that stays super easygoing, humble and unassuming. We can walk up and put an arm around her at any time, and she likes us to scratch behind her ears. What a delight!

Pandora has only been bred to Diomedes because the production has been so stellar. Miss Emma had a micron count of 15.0, SD 3.2 at her 2010 shearing, and an 18.0 with a 3.9 for her second shearing. Miss Scarlett has an incredibly soft handle, and her stats were 16.8 AFD, 4.0 SD.

Pandora is an exceptional mother...Miss Emma gained weight even while Mom fed others. She got over that idea with her second baby, but we bet she could be talked into it again if the need arose. She really is a sweetheart that does everything right.

If you decided to purchase Pandora, we would happily breed her back for you.
