| | | We were really excited about the pairing of Bolivia and Victor's Vic Jr. These two animals combine the awesome genetics of Victor and Hemingway with Bolivia's heady dose of black and grey genetics through her true black dam. When Vic Jr. died shortly after Bolivia was confirmed pregnant, it began a year long wait filled with the knowledge that this was going to be one of Jr.'s last cria.
When Liberty Girl hit the ground on July 4th, we weren't dissappointed. We knew she was pretty special from our first glance. She has wonderful presence and attitude, combined with a stunning head, balanced conformation, and a gorgeous dark rose grey fleece. I can't help thinking about Jr. everytime I look at her.

| | | Aussie Rockford has arrived in Texas. This amazing, half Accoyo gray has been famously siring champions and blue ribbon winners on the West Coast for years. Now he is here in Paradise! He has a beautiful silver gray fleece, extraordinarily dense and crimpy and is still maintaining a fine hand even at 10 years old. His conformation is excellent, with great presence and a beautiful, typey head. He passes all these attributes to his offspring along with his color. Of 133 registered offspring, over half are gray! And 105 are either black or gray, almost 80%! This is out of dams of varying color, including fawn and white! His offspring have gone on to win many championships and ribbons which I will update on here soon. In an independent statistical evaluation of offspring show results this year, he is in the top three of gray herdsires in the whole country! | |

Silver Allusion (Allie) comes by her name naturally. She is a captivating Aussie Rockford daughter out of our dark rose grey Vic. Jr. daughter, Libby. Libby was born a deep chocolate brown, but her yearling show experience put her in the dark rose grey class, so her pairing with Silver Grey Rockford seemed a likely choice, and this stunning female exceeds our expectations. Allie's conformation & typey good looks are perfect, and she has excellent coverage in an even steele grey with a lovely hand, soft crimp, and above average staple length.
Her dam, Liberty Girl, is an excellent example of the power of the combining the tried and true attributes of Accoyo Victor with Hemingway in Libby's sire, Victor's Vic Jr. We are thrilled to combine the Victor and Felix bloodlines in this grey package. Her bright soft fleece is showing the characteristic crimp of Rockford kids as they near their first birthday, and she possesses the density and exceptional staple length of her dam.
She finished the 2008 show season with a bang at AlpacaMania. Judge David Barbosa placed her first in a competitive class of grey yearling females. Her fineness advantage, excellent brightness, consistent crimp style, and density placed her at the head of her class of 8. She is a stunning addition to this year's cria crop, and destined to be a cornerstone foundation girl.
We believe she has what it takes in genetics and phenotype to produce the next generation of elite grey alpacas, and with the increasing numbers of top quality grey studs out there, Allie has a lengthy list of possible mates. For her maiden breeding we've chosen Bisturi, an awesome silver male standing at Amanda Vandenbosch's Flying Dutchman Farm. Bisturi shows wonderful fleece traits and conformation that we look for in a breeding male. This breeding produced a lovely silver grey male in June.
Allie is bred to Xanadu After Hours for September 2011.
