So allow me to tell you about our gem – CPeruvian Krista, a dual registered (US and Canada ) import who is remarkable. Where to begin? When Krista was younger – she was a force to be reckoned with. Back then, boys and girls were in the same color fleece class. Have you heard of the legendary Herdsire’s who’s offspring is still highly sought after like Accoyo Legacy and Timeteo??? Not only did Krista compete against these boys but she took 2nd place in fleece to each of them on separate occasions !!! That is right, second to Legacy – the highest selling alpaca – ½ interest sold for a whopping $750,000, easily valuing him at $1.5 million!!!
Well Krista is still living large in her hey day. She is an amazing girl, who you would never guess is an import. Krista is a super square compact female with poker straight lines. I would challenge anyone to present another import that is this spot on. Krista also still possesses a showy typey head with a nice square nose.
Still need convincing? Just touch her! No, really! Her fleece is out of sight. Yes – this import girl’s fleece is out of sight. She has is going on with Extreme density, Extreme fineness (lingering fineness for sure), Blinding luster, tight well defined crimp, long staple (yep – long staple on this import), and full coverage. Check out her sexy legs – gorgeous thick curls pour down her legs all the way to her toes.
Need a cheery on cake? Ok – her it goes….ready? …She is a terrific production female. Krista is an easy breeder and an easy birther. Her crias always thrive and are gorgeous. This super dam is a girl maker that has produced all female progeny but two AND has been able to produce COLOR – Light Fawn, Medium Fawn, Light Brown, Dark Brown….and LIGHT ROSE GREY!! Her offspring have been among the finest fleeced animals on the farm.
Awards Received Her fleece has won many awards including the Highest Scoring Fleece in the Handcrafter's Spin-Off at the National Conference Show when she was SIX YEARS OLD. She outscored many younger animals including all the whites and several herdsires who are quite well known!
