Delicacy is a classic Haldane offspring, with a gorgeous, fully covered head, and a dense, very crimpy fleece that won her the White Female Color Championship in a Level V show over some of the stiffest competition in the country. Then she went on to win the Color Championship in the AFCNA national fleece show. Her mother bred at an early age without any problem, and Delicacy followed in her mother's footsteps; she's already given us two champion quality females, one by Cochiti who won Color Champion at Northwest. Delicacy's Marco Polo cria has her dam's density, fineness, crimp and beauty. Definite showgirl--took second in her first show. These two girls won for Delicacy the Produce of Dam blue ribbon at the Northwest Alpaca Showcase. Delicacy is on a roll, so we've tried her out with Snowmass Perfection.

The moment Greg Mecklem first showed us Marco Polo's fleece we were bedazzled by the possibilities. Marco is a product of Pacific Crest's two top fleece lines, Microsoft and Sicuani (dam of Nautilus, Sequin, and Sequoia). Greg calls Marco's fleece "elite elite." Phil Mizrahie said "This fleece isn't excellent. It's phenomenal!" And Ian Watt, former President of the Australian Alpaca Association, said "This fleece is as good as Drambuie's, the best stud Australia ever had." This is high praise from some very high-power, world class breeders. The judges have agreed with their appraisal. Marco's fleece won first place in the AOBA fleece show in both 2003 and 2004. Not only that, in 2004 he won Reserve Champion fleece at AOBA over hundreds of white fleeces. Plus, in the same show Rod Dakan of Royal Fiber Spinnery awarded him the Mill's Choice Award for the best fleece for processing, over almost 1000 other entries. The same fleece also won first place at the Midwinter Nationals in
Delight is an elite product of a great maternal line. She is the daughter of Delicacy, two-time champion and produce of dam winner, granddaughter of Deli and greatgranddaughter of 4P Delicata. She's also the maternal sister of Hummingherd's Delicious and Hummingherd's Delicata, white color champions in the Northwest Alpaca Showcase. Delicious was also the third highest selling Huacaya in the 2008 AOBA Auction. Then there's the sire's side, with Marco Polo the fleece king. Marco won Reserve Color Champion in the 2004 AOBA National Fleece Show. Delight has an exquisitely bundled, dense fleece that is very bright and fine. In her first show as a yearling, she won Color Champion at Southwest Regional. The judges gave her kudos for her extreme density, along with her fineness and crimp. She also won Bred & Owned Yearling Female competition in three different regional shows: AWE, Northwest and Southwest. Delight's sire, dam and sisters are champions, and now she is continuing the tradition. Her first cria is a female by Snowmass Perfection, Hummingherd's Perfectly Delightful (see her AN entry). She was then bred back to PC Running Late to combine his extreme fineness with her extreme density, and we got a sure-thing beige male named Run a Tab. He's a sure bet to make a hit in the shows. Delight will be bred back to either Levi's 501 or Snowstorm.
