The story of Cypress Bayou Ranch
Cypress Bayou Ranch is a working alpaca farm nestled between pine savannahs, cypress trees, live oaks and Graveline Bayou in the small town of Ocean Springs, MS. We have a small herd of seven females and five male alpaca (3 Black).
How did it begin? In the summer of 2004, we took a trip to Santa Fe, NM, and on the list of things to do was a planned visit to a real working alpaca ranch. Well, it was love a first sight! Consequently, we spent 2 days at the ranch learning about the animals and the purpose of raising alpaca. We owned a parcel of land in Coastal Mississippi but were not sure if the alpaca could live in this hot humid territory.
