When we started in 1997, we had no idea that the love of alpacas would bring us from Washington state to Kansas---back to Glenn's 100 year old family farm. Our animals always do well in fleece shows and spin offs because of our breeding program aimed at producing fine fiber with wonderful handle. We are breeding for a very specific fiber type called the "silky" because we believe that once people feel this fiber, they will understand that there is more than one huacaya fiber type, and this is the one that feels the best. Since Robin has had 4 eye surgeries in 3 months, we have decided to concentrate on our silky herd. So if it's not a silky or we don't think it will produce silkies, is not black, gray, or white and is under 10 years of age, it's for sale. We like to sell our alpacas in groups and give great discounts when a selling 2 or more. Robin is a retired teacher and Glenn a retired instructor pilot, so sharing information about the history, care, and qualities of alpacas is a very important natural part of our support services. We enjoy helping new people get started in alpacas and are willing to spend the time to make sure our clients are comfortable with their precious charges. References are available upon request. |
