LIFE CAN'T GET MUCH BETTER THAN THIS! We saw our first alpacas in 1997 and bought our first alpaca in February 1998. Visit our website (www.aspenridgealpacas.com) to see us on the cover of the January 2006 Prime Time magazine and read the article about our operation and our trip to New Zealand where we had four days of shearing lessons.
HOME OF ASPEN RIDGE AUGUSTO'S COCHITI, WHITE MALE COLOR CHAMPION AT THE MAY 2005 GREAT WESTERN ALPACA SHOW IN DENVER. We sold Cochiti at the AOBA Conference in Utah 2005. He also was awarded Male Color Champ at in Southern California. He's now breeding in Arizona, Idaho, California, and Oregon. We have reserved breedings to this amazing male, so look for his crias. We now have two exquisite males born in 2008. We'll see how they do at their first show in Sept. 09.
Aspen Ridge Alpacas can show you what you can accomplish on small acreage. Small breeders can, indeed, compete with the larger ranches. We can help you set up your alpaca environment: shelters, fencing, nutrition, basic health care, and training. We had a very successful seminar with Dr. Steve Hull in September 2003. We must say that Steve's overall assessment of our farm management practices was A+, one of the top 5% of all the farms and ranches he has ever visited. ARA offers quality alpacas with excellent bloodlines as well as fiber/pet alpacas. We are committed to the well-being of every animal. Each alpaca has a regularly up-dated health and medical record. ARA is the place to learn about alpacas. Since we are here 24/7, we are able to spend quality time at the barn. You will find our facilities clean and well maintained. You are invited to tag along with us as we do our daily routine. If you are interested in purchasing alpacas or want to learn more about these delightful animals, please give us a call. We are always eager to talk "alpaca." You can be assured that you will smile along with the a |

WE WANT YOU TO VISIT US and see facilities and our friendly pacas. We are off the beaten track (only 45 minutes from Los Alamos), but it would be well worth the effort. The scenery along the Jemez Trail National Scenic Byway is something to behold. We are so very fortunate to live in the Jemez Mountains, surrounded by a national forest. The climate is very pleasant and is perfect for alpacas and humans alike.
We are careful to make sure our alpacas go to a home where they will be well cared for.
Our entire herd of alpacas and our one llama are BVDV free with the Virus Isolation or the PCR test. We are committed to maintaining a healthy herd and quarantine visiting pacas for 3-4 weeks. All visiting alpacas must show proof that they are BVDV free.
PEOPLE LIKE OUR SERVICE
Dear Mickey and Evelyn,
Thank you so much for inviting us to visit your ranch. We are very impressed with your well-planned facilities and your excellent herd. (Your dedication to improving bloodlines is obvious.) The small herd/facility appeals to us as something we can emulate, and we feel comfortable that alpaca breeding can be a profitable venture and rewarding lifestyle. Your willingness to share your knowledge and your honesty, integrity, and respect for others in the business is admirable, as demonstrated by your generosity in introducing us to other alpaca owners and their breeding programs. Thank you, too, for visiting our farm and helping us plan our facilities. We're sure others are willing to assist us as part of the inherent obligation to promote the alpaca way of life, but you have given of yourselves above and beyond the call. We feel blessed that we connected with you to begin our alpaca education. Most Appreciatively, Mary McNeill & Maxine Watkinds
