Our goal is to breed for FINENESS, DENSITY, UNIFORMITY & HIGH DEFINITION CRIMP in solid colored alpacas while maintaining perfect conformation. All colors, any color, as long as it's a solid color! We breed for LONG staple and HEAVY coverage with buttery handle ~ after all, this IS a fiber industry! Review the histograms on our breeding stock ~ we are achieving our goals! Our babies are showing excellent conformation and blinding brightness. Pretty, typey heads? We have those, too. But the end use is fiber and fiber is our focus! Our Studs have fabulous fiber and are passing it on!
** Our herd yearly tests negative for exposure to BVD! ** ALL animals coming onto our ranch must have a clean fecal test and a negative PCR test for BVDV. We take the health of our herd very seriously and take every precaution to keep our herd healthy ~ and yours. We do not quarantine incoming animals from different farms together! Your animals will receive exceptional care during their stay with us.
Each animal in our foundation herd was hand chosen to represent the highest quality available. They are award winning alpacas, and/or have produced award winning offspring. In most cases, both apply. We set our goals and expectations very high. Our herd consists of mainly Peruvian genetics, with a few select Chilean and Bolivian bloodlines. Columbine Ranch offers multiple breeding discounts, mobile stud service within Colorado, deeply discounted breedings for clients that purchase females from us and excellent post sale support. We offer very flexible financing options and discounts for multiple purchases, allowing you to create your own package. We interact with each animal daily, and offer well mannered, friendly breeding and show quality stock. We raise calm, confident crias to enhance your herd and have an impecable reputation. Columbine Ranch Alpacas is a small ranch, located in the foothills 10 miles Southwest of Denver. We breed show quality Peruvian and Peruvian-cross alpacas from top quality bloodlines: 4P Black Magic, 3P Royal Fawn, 3P Yupanqui, 2P Caligula, Bueno, 2P Leon and Peruvian Drambuie. To stay small, we offer incredible prices!
