New to Alpacas? Don't worry. We can show you how easy it is to properly care for these wonderful animals.
Alpacas are very inexpensive to feed. Typical cost is less than $1/day per head.
You don't need elaborate barns and fencing to house and contain alpacas.

We started our farm in 2003 while looking for critters to own that would be profitable. We researched alpacas and fell in love with them. Having had a few sheep in the past, we found alpacas so easy to handle and care for.
We started with quality full Peruvian animals and have bred to well-known show winners. These decisions gave us an outstanding group of young males to be the foundation of our breeding program.
We continue to show our animals to build on their qualities and adjust our breeding decisions. Our herd is growing slowly from our initial investment, but we enjoy each step of the way!
Our alpacas have done well in the very competitive show classes of white animals. White alpacas were our choice primarily because of the superior fleece qualities and the ability to dye it any color.
We also have added select color genetics.

In addition to quality breed stock, Gold Medallion Ranch also supports the end-product which is the fiber industry.
We market our Eco Friendly "Green Line" of yarns and rovings from our quality herd through our local European Farmers Market in Chesterton, Indiana and the Michigan Fiber Festival.
We also are involved in our local spinning and Sit and Knit Groups.
