 UPDATED NEWS FROM SPANISH PEAKS ALPACAS
A BIG THANK YOU to all of you who have purchased alpacas from us. Our girls have delivered their beautiful 2009 crias out of Snowmass Andean Night, one of Snowmass Alpacas' royal production studs. They are simply gorgeous, exhibiting their father's nice bone, classic head, and bright, uniform, dense and crimpy fleece.
Because of health reasons we are selling our herd, including our prize foundation dams. We have already sold Cassie and her stunning cria, Andean Star. Congratulations to Gary and Susan Frank of Dusty Creek Ranch!! We have also sold Bijoux, congratulations to Llano Soleado Alpacas on their acquisition of an outstanding true black dam!! And congratulations to Dan and Leah Reynolds of Horse Mountain Alpacas for their purchase of exquisite Ruby Starlite.
Left for sale are Serengeti Silk and her handsome black cria, Night Ryder, Little Red Ridinghood, a beautiful maroon Legacy granddaughter, Sedona, a little beauty out of our blue ribbon Casey Edith, Andean Elegance, a lovely bay black Andean Night daughter out of our nicest black dam, Bijoux, and Stella by Starlite, a stunning silver grey with incomparable genetics. Take advantage of our need to sell these alpacas as soon as we can and pay significantly less for some very high quality breeding stock carrying outstanding genetics. SPANISH PEAKS ALPACAS is a small farm in southern Colorado 16 miles SW of Walsenburg. We consider it an honor and a privilege to be able to share our lives with one of the most beautiful and endearing species of animals on earth and invite you to let us introduce you to the magic of alpacas. We pride ourselves in our service, integrity and our top quality breeding stock, which contain many of the most highly sought after bloodlines in North America.
Our breeding emphasis is on bright, soft handling, buttery feeling fleeces in all colors. Density and minimal guard hair are equally important. Strong conformation along with good health and reproductive vigor are givens for us. Great care has gone into selecting our breeding stock and service sires, and we are very proud of our small prize winning herd and their fleeces.
We also make and sell custom felted alpaca scarves. Some are nuno-felted with fabric designs incorporated into an alpaca base, and others are made from a combination of beautiful iridescent silk chiffon with alpaca and decorative yarns felted into it. These scarves make beautiful gifts, and we would love to make some for you out of our finest fleeces. We can also use your own special fleeces if you prefer. We would be happy to send you photos of scarves we have made.
Felting classes are available to make hats and scarves. Inquire as to times. We can also schedule an individual class at your convenience. |
