 Winsome Alpacas....we are often asked how we came up with this name. If you check out the Webster's Dictionary, you will see the definition for "winsome" as: winning, joyful, engaging, or charming. This definition is just what alpacas are to us and most likely to anyone you talk to who own these beautiful and should we say "winsome" animals.
We bought our first alpacas in 1997 and have enjoyed them every day. This is a very "family friendly" business.
At Winsome Alpacas, we specialize in the "personal touch". Since we are a smaller farm and have consignment animals from small farms, all of our alpacas have lots of individual attention. We feel this makes them much more friendly, easier to exhibit in the show arena and more fun to own. For our breeding program we select herdsires from bloodlines that exhibit good characterists. This is evident in the crias born at our farm.
After the sale, we believe in followup with new owners to make sure they feel comfortable with all aspects of raising alpacas.
We are very active with other area small breeders. We have joined together forming the Mid Ohio Alpaca Breeders Association. We support each other, networking and combining our efforts in local events.
