Hello and Welcome to Sweet Maple Alpacas!
We are a sixth generation Vermont farm family. The land we own was once farmed by Tom’s grandparents. Raising animals, whether it be horses, pigs, chickens, or rabbits, has always been second nature to us. Raising alpacas seemed like the next logical step.
Tom and I discovered alpacas in 2002. Six months after seeing them for the first time we purchased one……then another…..and another…..and another! We currently have 18 alpacas. We have had 21 born on the farm!
In addition to the alpacas we have a sugarhouse on the farm. Hence the name Sweet Maple Alpacas! We have been making our own Vermont maple syrup for over 20 years. We hold an annual open house, usually in March, where we demonstrate making maple syrup.
We have a farm store here on the farm where we sell alpaca products and maple syrup. You will find sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves, teddy bears, maple syrup and a whole lot more in the store. We have been very busy! Our store hours are by chance or appointment.
Sweet Maple Alpacas is located in Westminster, Vermont along the banks of the Connecticut River. Just minutes from Interstate 91. We invite you to come and meet our gentle and inquisitive alpacas. We’d like to teach you about them, their beautiful fiber, the business opportunities surrounding them and the wonderful lifestyle of owning alpacas.
