If you are just getting into the business, it is really important that you buy from a breeder that you feel you can trust. There is such a huge learning curve with these animals, it is necessary to have a good farm as a resource for the many questions that you will have in your first year. That is one of the things that Steve and I feel like we do really well. It is our goal to make new breeders feel well prepared. Give us a chance to help you. We will do our best to be as honest and helpful as we can be.

About Misty Morning Alpacas
We are a full service farm located in Columbus, In. 35 miles south of Indianapolis, just off Interstate 65 and have 19 alpacas.
Five years ago, Steve and I moved to our farm which was perfectly set up for horses with stables and barns and fencing. Everything we would need. We set out to figure out a way to utilize the farm to its fullest potential. We finally came upon Hobby Farm Magazine that was featuring alpacas. It piqued our interest and we started researching them. We visited several farms, read articles, talked to people, went to shows: you name it, we did it. We finally decided that alpacas would be a good fit for our farm, and a great fit for our lifestyle. So, we jumped in with both feet, and here we are! Now we have been in the business for almost 5 years. |

It still surpises us, but you really can't have more fun than being around alpacas. Family, friends, and people we barely knew have gathered to watch, learn, offer advice and generally get involved. Learning seems to be a part of the process. We have never discovered anything as interesting as this new direction for our lives.
Recently we paused in the middle of all the things that demand attention to think long and hard about where alpacas were taking us. We discovered that we are more excited than ever. We believe in the alpaca industry and the lifestyle it brings. That realization has caused us to commit ourselves and the farm to:
>constantly improving genetics
>continued research
>innovative herd management
>involvement in the work and development of the industry
>connection with other breeders and owners
>helping anyone interested in alpacas to start right

At Misty Morning Alpacas, located in south-central Indiana, We raise Huacaya alpacas in a variety of colors and bloodlines. We are always working to improve the fiber and confirmation of our small herd. With constantly improving genetics, research, and management innovation, we are certain that attention to detail matters.
