 Welcome to Humm V Farm. We've been in the suri alpaca business since late 2001 and believe that the best is yet to come - even in this econonmy.
We offer the largest selection of elite suri genetics in the Mid West with our suris coming from such legendary sires as Durango, Baron, Baron Lafite, Bruxo, Ramilo, Black Chip, MacGyver, Uribe,and Mahogany Prince. From our back porch, we see Luster, Locks, and absolutely stunning Good Looks!
Our business goal is to breed, show and sell elite quality Suri alpacas in a wide range of fleece colors to discerning buyers for our mutual pleasure and profit.
Nancy has served on the Board of Directors for the Alpaca Registry and the North American Fiber Producers Co-Operative. Donald has served on the marketing and election committees with OABA and has recently been elected to the Board of Directors for MOPACA.
We have produced color champions and ribbon winers in both halter and fleece classes and we have suris in each color group to increase your selection options.
We're proud to share with you that in August, our halter ribbon winning, 3 year old auburn red herdsire HVF Lord of the Dance ("Zeus") scored 99.45 out of 100 points in the 2008 Suri Symposium 2 Oz. Fleece Spin-Off competition, taking second place out of 22 entries, missing the Dark Color Championship by only 1/2 a point! That's a breeding goal well-met! Zeus begins his breeding career this spring and is eager to add your dam to his dance card!
We are also eagerly awaiting 4 new cria in April & May - 3 are out of a stunning true black herdsire who was bred to our Evita, Sofia and Nesya. We can't wait to see what comes from that range of color. The 4th is by our medium fawn herdsire HVF Sun King out of 4Winds LuLu- now listed for sale. LuLu is due in May so now is the time to take her home - the cria will be sold separately after its birth! |

Our new farm store Alpaca Pleasures of Humm V Farm offers alpaca product from raw fiber, roving, & yarns to finished goods that include clothing, teddy bears, and rugs. Nancy is involved in both a Fiber Sorting Apprenticeship and Olds College's Master Spinners program. The knowledge and skills she is accumulating are going directly into building a unique offering of alpaca product in the store throughout the year. Our store's website should be online soon to better show you what there is to choose from!

Additional services that we offer include education and support for new breeders, fiber shearing and sorting, boarding and brokering, local transport, professional handling at shows, photography of your farm and your alpacas, and educational opprotunities including seminars on fleece preparation for show and textile use.

| | Breeder Biography
We have bred and shown suri alpacas since 2001. In Kansas since 2007, we welcome all to come see the new genetic possibilites now available coast to coast from the MidWest. Nancy is a Fiber Sorter Apprentice and welcomes raw fleeces to prepare for show or millage. She photographs alpaca for marketing use . Don shears, transports regionally, handles show alpacas and volunteers regularly. HVF boards & brokers as well. This past year, we also sold hay. And sometimes, we even rest! :)
