Double 8 Alpaca Ranch is located in Jobstown New Jersey, conveniently within an hour of New York, Philadelphia, and Atlantic City.
This is the home of Bonnie Belfiore-Kittrell and her husband, Doug Kittrell -- as well as their herd of black alpacas and some of the most famous alpaca genetics in the world, including Peruvian lines of Accoyo and Alianza descent such as Augusto, Camilio, Express, Felix, Legacy, and Royal Fawn to name a few.
The name "Double 8 Alpaca Ranch" was derived from Bonnie and Doug's wedding date. They were married on 8/8/2003.
Bonnie is an animal lover with an uncanny ability to understand animals'feelings and needs. Bonnie's low-stress approach to herd health and maintenance 'cri-8s' a trust between alpaca and human. As a teacher for over 12 years, she can utilize those skills to offer one-on-one education to visitors and customers.
Doug has worked in the technology industry for 18 years, finding business solutions for multi-million dollar companies. Today, Doug is focused on optimizing the breeding program at Double 8 through extensive review of each alpaca's traits and the herdsire pairings available. By "Selectively Cri-8ing the Best" Double 8 Alpaca Ranch is well on its way to "Cri-8ing" a superior herd of alpacas.
Call today to make your appointment to visit the Double 8 herd! Each visitation is tailored so that you leave with an understanding of Double 8's involvement in alpaca care. |

Doug and Bonnie take a serious approach in keeping the Double 8 Alpaca Ranch facility a clean and healthy environment for their alpacas. Water buckets and feed dishes are cleaned regularly. Fresh water is given twice each day. The barns and pastures are cleaned twice daily to maintain a clean and healthy environment. This allows Bonnie and Doug to best monitor the well-being of their herd, and the herd is very comfortable with the human interaction. All of Double 8 Ranch's visitors have commented on how comfortable the herd is around people. They are not overly friendly, but they will come up and check everyone out.
All alpacas that reside at the Double 8 Alpaca Ranch are monitored daily. Extra effort is made to tailor nutrition to meet each individual alpaca's needs. A Norm Evan's blend of alpaca feed is given twice daily according to weight and health needs. Fiber Nutrients are used as a top-dress once daily. Still Water Minerals are offered free-choice. Additional supplements are given based on individual needs. Bonnie and Doug also select the best hay available, usually 80% Orchard grass, 20% Timothy. They are very picky, like their alpacas, in selecting the best quality hay. In addition, all alpacas are offered free-choice grazing on the well-established pastures at the Double 8 Alpaca Ranch.
Doug and Bonnie firmly believe that hands-on learning is the best way to experience the "alpaca lifestyle". Those interested in learning more about alpacas are welcome to visit the Double 8 Alpaca Ranch. Give them a call today! 609-758-7560.
