About Bentwood Alpacas

Image is being processed by ANWE NEED TO MAKE ROOM (OR ANOTHER BARN)!!! WE HAVE MANY ALPACAS PRICED TO MOVE! LOOK CLOSELY, YOU MIGHT GET THE DEAL OF THE CENTURY!
Our farm is located in our favorite place, our hometown of rolling hills, apple and dairy farms, and ski country. We have chosen to raise our 6 children where we grew up. Now we have decided alpaca farming would be an ideal environment for our ever chaotic lives. The farm is our way of slowing down. We work here together. In our "other lives" we are spread out. Mark is a local homebuilder, equipment dealer, and lumber distributer. He also is on the school board and coaches lacrosse. Suzanne is a stay-at-home mom. That says it all, I think. Organization is very important when raising 6 children who are aged 22, 15, 14, 13, 10,and 5. We are constantly on the run.
Our goal is to breed for high quality color animals. We fell in love with the stately greys and the enchanting appaloosas at first. Our starter herd came from the longest established alpaca farm in New York State, Dewey Meadows Alpacas. With their input, we have learned a lot. Our education began with the knowledge other alpaca farmers have shared with us. The alpaca community is tremendously generous with their time and expertise. We've visited many farms and have learned something on every visit.

beautiful day

With the purchase of any of our females, we offer a breeding to one of our males. With our recent additions of full Accoyo and full Alianza females, we have high hopes for our breeding program. Our goal is to breed for Accoyos and Alianzas with color. Color and Quality Fleece!! With a purchase, we also offer "mentoring". We want you to know as much as possible about these animals when you get them home. They are relatively easy to care for (and very easy to love), but there are some important facts to know about their care. We tend to learn everything the hard way, so we have a wealth of knowledge learned in that manner. Of course, that makes for some very funny stories. We don't mind laughing at our mistakes.
We welcome visits. We would love to talk alpaca with anyone.

And just a side note, we are BVD free.

Amid the rolling hills of Central NY, our farm is an attraction. The alpacas have plenty of room to graze and romp. They are a sight to see. We have a wide range of colors of alpacas to see. If you're looking for choices, we have them.
