 Welcome to Cozy Acres Alpacas! We are located 8 miles West of Le Sueur, MN in the heart of the Minnesota River Valley. Cozy Acres was established in 2001 and began with a pregnant female and a juvenile female.

It all started with a Perm! Kathy was reading a "Woman's Day Magazine" about an East Coast farm where the woman wanted to do something different on her own as a home based business. Two visits to the MN State Fair Alpaca booth and 5 hours of discussion later, Tyler and Kathy were off to 6 different MN farms to learn even more. One of our last initial visits was to North Country Alpacas in Le Sueur, MN. Four hours earlier and "Twilight's Liberty Girl" was born on September 14, 2001. She was the cutest thing we had ever seen and it was love at first sight for both of us. On December 30, 2001, we signed an agreement to purchase 'Libby' and 'Coco'.
The farm search was on, as we boarded the two girls for another year and a half. We found our farm in June of 2002 and renovated the barn, built the fences, seeded a pasture all in time for a May 2003 move in date for the alpacas. By this time, we were at 3 1/2. We were so excited to finally look out the window and see the alpacas grazing in the pasture. |
